چکیده

Genomic selection methodologies and genome-wide association studies use powerful statistical procedures that correlate large amounts of high-density SNP genotypes phenotypic data. Actual 305-d milk (MY), fat (FY), protein (PY) yield data on 695 cows 76,355 genotyping-by-sequencing-generated marker from Canadian Holstein dairy were used to characterize linkage disequilibrium (LD) structure cows. Also, the comparison pedigree-based BLUP, genomic BLUP (GBLUP), Bayesian (BayesB) methods in ridge regression BayesB carried out for MY, FY, PY. Results LD analysis revealed as distance decreases, increases through chromosomes. However, unexpected high peaks observed between pairs with larger distances all The GBLUP models resulted similar heritability estimates 10-fold cross-validation MY PY; however, model higher than FY. predictive ability was significantly lower Association analyses indicated 28 high-effect markers Bos taurus autosome 14 located within 6 genes (DOP1B, TONSL, CPSF1, ADCK5, PARP10, GRINA) associated

Estimation of Economic Values for Fertility, Stillbirth and Milk Production Traits in Iranian Holstein Dairy Cows

The objective of present study was to derive the economic values for number of inseminations to conception, calving interval, milk yield and stillbirth, using economic data of 10 Iranian Holstein herds. The economic values were derived by using the profit function methods and differentiating a profit equation with respect to the traits of interest. The cow fertility costs herd amortization or r...

The Pattern of Linkage Disequilibrium in Livestock Genome

Linkage disequilibrium (LD) is bases of genomic selection, genomic marker imputation, marker assisted selection (MAS), quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping, parentage testing and whole genome association studies. The Particular alleles at closed loci have a tendency to be co-inherited. In linked loci this pattern leads to association between alleles in population which is known as LD. Two metr...

Genome Wide Association Studies for Milk Production Traits in Chinese Holstein Population

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) based on high throughput SNP genotyping technologies open a broad avenue for exploring genes associated with milk production traits in dairy cattle. Motivated by pinpointing novel quantitative trait nucleotide (QTN) across Bos Taurus genome, the present study is to perform GWAS to identify genes affecting milk production traits using current state-of-the-a...

Genome-Wide Association Analysis of Adaptation Using Environmentally Predicted Traits

Current methods for studying the genetic basis of adaptation evaluate genetic associations with ecologically relevant traits or single environmental variables, under the implicit assumption that natural selection imposes correlations between phenotypes, environments and genotypes. In practice, observed trait and environmental data are manifestations of unknown selective forces and are only indi...
